When you see the color green what do you think of?

Ninety days after I watched the checkered flag drop on the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season, I am waiting for another green flag to wave over the starting field at Daytona International Speedway.

Over the last 90 days, the JHE team has accomplished a lot as a team and we are all very proud to show off our hard work.

The crew has been working with our partners at Sprint and Octagon to completely redesign the mobile experience for guests visiting the 2014 Sprint Experience. Our in-house design team worked with the construction staff to plan and construct two custom Mobile Display Units (MDUs) that are unlike anything currently touring the country. We applied the learnings from 2013 and implemented a robust awning system that will better combat inclement weather while also staying aesthetically pleasing.

Our special events staff has been working alongside NASCAR partners to create a high-end hospitality experience for NASCAR executives and corporate partners the morning of the Daytona 500.

Throughout my last 13 years at JHE, our opening ceremonies division has taken great pride in producing memorable moments at the “Great American Race.” With the announcement that Luke Bryan will be performing during the pre-race ceremony this year, there is no doubt 2014 will continue the tradition of creating goose bump moments.

I am proud to work alongside such great people and am excited to see what 2014 has in store for all of us.

So when you watch the green flag wave on the 2014 Daytona 500, please take a second to think about all the time and effort that was done behind-the-scenes to make that cherished moment possible.
