My Next Chapter: Stop and Give Thanks

Nov 27, 2014

In the last 12 months I have bought a house; quit a job that I loved; become a landlord; entered an industry I knew nothing about; made lots of new friends; welcomed a new niece into the world; developed an obsession for podcasts and black licorice; quit a job that I liked; and taken on the amazing responsibility of leading a young company. I have experienced more in the last 12 months then I did in the previous two years and no one is more surprised than me.

As I look forward to the next year, I see another roller coaster of learning lessons ahead. I recently accepted the position as president of Hirschfeld Marketing Services and will be responsible for managing a team of young, talented professionals that are looking to me to help create growth opportunities for the team.

The past 20 years of work experience has trained me for this job; whether it was working for a graphic artist in the Bay Area where my responsibilities included garbage patrol and M&M’s purchasing or my time spent at NASCAR learning to work with Fortune 500 marketers.  All of these life lessons have continued to contribute to my never ending quest for a whole education.

As I begin to prepare for my next life experience, I wanted to stop and give thanks to Mike Verlatti Sr., Steve Martinez, Steve Petty, Chad Roney, Steve O’Donnell, Jay Howard, Jason Scott and now Todd Hirschfeld for having confidence in my abilities and never questioning that I always have, and always will have their back.

It’s time to jump on this roller coaster … who is in?
